The 2009 Texas legislative session runs from January 13 - June 1.  During the 140-day session, dozens of issues affecting community associations will be considered.

The CAI Texas Legislative Action Committee, (TLAC) is a 20+-member committee charged with following state legislative issues on behalf of the organization.  Each of Texas’ four chapters has delegates representing their interests and the membership is comprised of association volunteers, managers and business partners.

The CAI TLAC continuously reviews proposed legislation and takes positions on all bills affecting community associations.  Using volunteers, grassroots action and professional lobbyists, CAI TLAC communicates their position on issues to policymakers.

Do you want to keep up with issues that are happening during the legislative session? 

Legislative alerts are emailed by CAI as needed throughout the session.  In addition, copies of legislation being tracked by CAI, position statements and other information will be posted on the Texas page of the CAI Legislative Advocacy State Center.  To access the advocacy center click here. Once you enter the Advocacy Center, click on the State Center tab and then on Texas.

CAI’s Texas Legislative Action Committee is committed to ensuring that the views of homeowner association members and managers are represented at the Capitol.  In addition to a dedicated group of volunteers, we have an experienced lobby team of four lobbyists.
